Privacy Policy
Effective date: 9 November 2026
JingleJoy: Christmas Countdown is a cozy Advent calendar game for the whole family. We built it to work without collecting anything about you or your children. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means.
The short version
- We do not collect, sell or share personal information about you or anyone in your family.
- There are no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting services and no tracking.
- The app has no servers behind it. Everything it knows stays on your device.
- Your calendars, profiles, stars, ornaments, photos and settings stay on your device.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Who we are
JingleJoy is published by New Version Limited, a company based in New Zealand ("we", "us"). The app is offered worldwide. Our only contact address is jinglejoy.support@newversion.studio.
What stays on your device
The app keeps what it needs in a private database, private settings and private files on your device:
- your Advent calendar, which doors you have opened and finished, and any calendars you made or imported;
- your profiles (up to six), each with a name and an avatar you choose, and each profile's Joy Stars, rank and badges;
- your family tree and its ornaments;
- your settings, such as theme, music, reminders and reminder time;
- the photo you pick for the "Your Photo" theme, and a smaller copy of it made for the home-screen widget;
- whether JingleJoy Plus is unlocked.
We cannot see any of this. It is not uploaded to us. Depending on your device settings, your phone's own backup service (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include app data in your device backup. That backup is controlled by you and by Apple or Google, not by us.
The art, music and sounds in the app are bundled inside it. JingleJoy works fully offline, except for buying or restoring JingleJoy Plus.
Profiles
Profiles are only a name and an avatar so that each family member can earn their own stars. They are stored on your device, are never sent anywhere and are not tied to a real identity. You can use first names, nicknames or just "Mom" and "Dad".
Photos
If you choose the "Your Photo" theme, the app opens your device's own photo picker so you can choose one picture. JingleJoy does not ask for access to your photo library and cannot see your other pictures. It keeps its own resized copy of the chosen picture in private storage on your device, plus a smaller copy that the home-screen widget can show. The photo is never uploaded.
Home-screen widget
The widget shows your countdown and today's door. It reads a small amount of information that the app saves on your device for it, such as the number of days left, the theme and the optional photo copy. Nothing is sent from the widget to us or to anyone else.
Sharing calendars
You can share a calendar you made. JingleJoy turns it into a self-contained code or link and opens your device's share sheet. You choose where it goes, for example a message to Grandma. The code contains the calendar's text, such as its name and door titles, and travels only through the app or person you pick. It does not pass through us. What happens to it after you send it depends on the app and person you send it to. Please do not put private information in a calendar you plan to share.
When you import a code, JingleJoy checks it and shows you the calendar before saving it. It only reads plain text from it.
Reminders
If you turn on door reminders, the app schedules notifications on your device. They are created and shown by your phone. Nothing is sent to us, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in your phone's settings.
Purchases
JingleJoy Plus is a one-time lifetime unlock made through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Apple or Google collects and processes your payment details. We never receive your card number, billing address or other payment details.
- The app asks the store what your account owns and keeps the answer on your device so that Plus works offline.
- As the developer we receive only the standard aggregated sales reports that Apple and Google provide to all developers. They do not identify you to us.
- Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
Children
JingleJoy is rated 4+ and is a family app, designed for grown-ups to use together with children. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all. There are no ads and no way for a child to contact anyone through the app. Profiles are optional nicknames kept on the device.
No third-party tracking
JingleJoy contains no advertising, analytics, attribution or social-media software that collects data. The only outside services involved are the Apple App Store or Google Play, for purchases, and your phone's own system features, such as the share sheet, photo picker and notifications.
Deleting your data
Everything is on your device, so you are in control. To erase it all at once, open Settings → Your data → Delete all my data in the app. That permanently removes your calendars, profiles, stars, ornaments, photos, widget copies and settings from your phone and cancels any reminders. Your JingleJoy Plus purchase is not erased, because it belongs to your Apple or Google account and stays with the store. We have no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. You can also delete a single profile on the Profiles screen, or uninstall JingleJoy to remove all of its data from your device. Codes you shared with other people stay with them.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how JingleJoy handles information, we will update this page and the effective date before the change reaches the app. If a future version adds anything that sends data off your device, it will be optional and explained in the app first.
